Dr. Chad Hudnall is a 1997 graduate of Grand Island Northwest High School and a 2001 graduate of Doane College, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and was a two year Academic All-American in football and graduated with honors. In 2005, he graduated from Indiana University with a Doctorate in Optometry.
Dr. Hudnall is a member of the Nebraska Optometric Association and served as the President of the NOA in 2013 and was selected as the Political Action Key Person of the Year in 2011. He was voted the Young Optometrist of the Year in Nebraska in 2014. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Northwest High School Education Foundation, is the Vice-Chair of the Grand Island Community Foundation, Vice-Chair of the EyeAssure Board of Directors and is a board member for Goodwill Industries. Dr. Hudnall served on the Board of Directors for the Grand Island area Chamber of Commerce, and was the Chair of the Board in 2014. He is a graduate of the Hall County Leadership Tomorrow program and is a member of the Grand Island Young Professionals.
He was voted one of the “Top 35 under 35” in Grand Island in 2009. Chad is a member of the Grand Island Public Schools Key Communicators group. Dr. Hudnall has also volunteered for the Heartland United Way and does speaking engagements on vision for various organizations including the diabetic education group at St. Francis Hospital, School Nurse Association, and the Veterans Hospital in Grand Island.
He specializes in the fitting of contact lenses of all types, including those patients with corneal disease such as keratoconus that require specialty lenses, treating eye diseases such as, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye and ocular surface disease as well as routine vision care for the entire family.
Dr. Hudnall and his wife Kara attend Third City Christian Church, and are the proud parents of three beautiful kids, Jenna, Abby, Connor and the family dog Rizley. In his “spare time” Dr. Hudnall enjoys golfing, spending time with his family, reading, and, of course, Cornhusker Football.
