The optometrists of Family Eyecare Center are excited to announce the addition of Dr. Lynda Conner to the staff beginning on July 31st. Dr. Conner comes to FEC after having practiced for seven years in South Bend, Indiana and for a short stint in Grand Island.
“We are extremely excited to bring in someone with Dr. Conner’s expertise to our practice and the communities of Grand Island and St. Paul,” said Dr. Mark Stines. “Lynda’s specialities in ocular eye disease and pediatric eye care, as well as her extensive surgical background, make her a perfect fit for our practice. She’ll be a great fit for both our current and new patients.”
Dr. Conner grew up in South Bend and attended Purdue University where she graduated with honors in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She completed her Doctor of Optometry in 2007 from the University of Indiana. During her time at IU, she completed ocular disease externships at the Ft. Wayne, Indiana Veterans Hospital as well as Bennett and Bloom Eye Centers in Louisville, Kentucky.
During her time at Indiana, she met her husband, Josh, a Grand Island native. They married in 2007 and stayed in South Bend where she practiced at a large referral center treating everything from primary eye care to glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and all types of pre- and post- operative surgical procedures.
“We think that Lynda’s personality will be a great fit for our team at Family Care,” Dr. Chad Hudnall said. “She has a passion for patient care and making sure the clients needs always come first. We are excited to have her on board.”
The Conner’s have two children, Kennedy and Jackson and after the birth of their second child in 2014, they decided to move back to Nebraska. She enjoys exercising, running, and spending quality time with friends and family. She and Josh attend Third City Christian Church and are now involved with the Grand Island Lions Club.
“We knew Grand Island was a great place to raise a family,” said Dr. Conner. “So, it wasn’t a hard decision to move back. Joining Family Eye Care is icing on the cake. When a patient sees me, I just want them to walk away with a great experience.
“I know that Dr. Hudnall, Dr. Stines and Dr. Grabowksi want that for their patients. It’s about the whole patient experience. For me to join here, I’m over the moon about it. I’m excited to get involved with the community and for them to be involved with my family as well.”
Dr. Conner is a long time member of the American Optometric Association and now looks forward to becoming actively involved with the Nebraska Optometric Association and the community of Grand Island. She will be accepting new patients in the Grand Island and St. Paul offices.
