Dr. Joshua Conner joined Family Eyecare Center in December of 2016 as a residency trained optometrist. Originally from Grand Island, he attended Seedling Mile Elementary School and Barr Junior High School before graduating from Grand Island Central Catholic in 1997. He attended Doane University for his undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry where he received the Doane Scholar Award. Dr. Josh earned his Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University in Bloomington.
Dr. Conner completed a 13-month, post-doctoral training in ocular disease with Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers in Louisville, KY; where he became extremely proficient in the management of retinal disease, glaucoma, diabetes, and many other ocular conditions. During that time he learned from Retinal Specialists, Glaucoma Specialists, General Ophthalmologists, and other residency trained Optometrists.
While completing his degree at Indiana University School of Optometry, Dr. Conner completed externships in both the United States and Mexico. He is very proficient in performing eye exams in Spanish.
Dr. Conner and his wife Dr. Lynda Conner have two children, Kennedy and Jackson. After the birth of their second child in 2014, they decided to move back to Nebraska. He and Lynda attend Third City Christian Church. In his spare time, Dr. Conner enjoys being part of the mission at Hope Harbor, landscaping, and spending time with friends and family. Joshua is a Hope Harbor board member. He is also a member of the Grand Island Lions Club, the American Optometric Association, Nebraska Optometric Association, and is a GIPS Key Communicator.
