Dr. Lynda Conner grew up in South Bend, Indiana, approximately 90 miles east of Chicago. She attended Purdue University where she graduated with honors in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. From there she went on to Indiana University to earn her Doctor of Optometry in 2007 after completing ocular disease externships at the Fort Wayne Veterans Hospital as well as Bennett and Bloom Eye Centers in Louisville, Kentucky.
Lynda is a long time member of the American Optometric Association and now looks forward to becoming actively involved with the Nebraska Optometric Association.
During her time at Indiana University she met her husband, Josh, who is a native to Grand Island. They married in 2007 and stayed in South Bend where she practiced for the next seven years at a large referral center treating everything from primary eye care to glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and all types of pre- and post- operative surgical procedures.
Dr. Conner and Josh have two children, Kennedy and Jackson. After the birth of their second child in 2014, they decided to move back to Nebraska. She and Josh attend Third City Christian Church and are now involved with the local Grand Island Lions Club. In here spare time, Dr. Conner enjoys exercising, running, and spending quality time with friends and family. She is still an avid fan of here hometown Notre Dame Fighting Irish, but is more than happy to cheer for the Huskers on fall Saturday’s as well. Lynda is thrilled to get the opportunity to provide top notch eye care to the Grand Island community for years to come and looks forward to getting more involved with the community, meeting new friends, and raising her family in Grand Island.
